Market Search for Vision Carriers

Recently, we completed an extensive Request for Proposal (RFP) for Vision coverage. On July 20th, 2017 the TEEBC Board Members approved the following carriers for use through the TEEBC Interlocal Participation Agreement (IPA).

  • Davis Vision
  • Dearborn/Eyemed Network
  • Eyetopia
  • Superior

Texas is a large state with different network dynamics and plan structure desires, we believe that by having a number of options available to Members we will meet the needs of the employees throughout the state.

These carriers are dedicated to providing comprehensive plan design, competitive rates while maintaining excellent service. We believe that you will pleased with the selections available and encourage you to review these options when looking for Vision coverage for your employees.

Class of 2016 Large District Group Life Reduction

TEEBC is pleased to announce that Sun Life was the awarded group life/ad&d carrier for the TEEBC Class of 2016 Large District Group Life Program RFP.  TEEBC was able to obtain a 15% rate reduction for both the employee and employer paid group life/ad&d coverage’s for the 10 member districts that participated.

In addition to this great savings opportunity, the districts were able to keep their current plan designs and lock-in these great low rates for 3 years.

Market Search for TPA and Administrator

First Financial Group of America currently serves as the selected Third Party Administrator (TPA) and Administrator for the TEEBC. Members of the TEEBC Board approved a market search for the TPA and Administrator to be conducted in 2019. Further information will be made available as the date nears for this market search.

TEEBC Large District Group Life Program

TEEBC is currently conducting a Large District Group Life RFP for a number of large school districts with an employee base of 1,000 employees or more. The participating districts will save valuable resources for their district and reduce the cost of coverage for their employees that purchase insurance for themselves and their families through this aggregation opportunity. Districts will also be able to retain their current plan designs and enjoy the savings. The Board appointed committee will make a recommendation to the Board and a carrier selection will be made no later than July 1, 2016.
