TEEBC is pleased to announce that Sun Life was the awarded group life/ad&d carrier for the TEEBC Class of 2016 Large District Group Life Program RFP. TEEBC was able to obtain a 15% rate reduction for both the employee and employer paid group life/ad&d coverage’s for the 10 member districts that participated.
In addition to this great savings opportunity, the districts were able to keep their current plan designs and lock-in these great low rates for 3 years.
First Financial Group of America currently serves as the selected Third Party Administrator (TPA) and Administrator for the TEEBC. Members of the TEEBC Board approved a market search for the TPA and Administrator to be conducted in 2019. Further information will be made available as the date nears for this market search.
TEEBC is currently conducting a Large District Group Life RFP for a number of large school districts with an employee base of 1,000 employees or more. The participating districts will save valuable resources for their district and reduce the cost of coverage for their employees that purchase insurance for themselves and their families through this aggregation opportunity. Districts will also be able to retain their current plan designs and enjoy the savings. The Board appointed committee will make a recommendation to the Board and a carrier selection will be made no later than July 1, 2016.

Our Administrator….
First Financial Group of America (FFGA) recently secured a reduced rate on Employer paid Life and AD&D coverage for 170 school districts. The program was developed with Dearborn National, an AM Best rated A+ carrier.
The participating School Districts received a 52% reduction on their Employer paid Life and AD&D premiums. They will continue to enjoy these reduced rates for sometime as the carrier provided a 3-year rate guarantee. This program will save districts thousands of dollars for this expense that can be used in other educational endeavors.
The FFGA/Dearborn plan offered through TEEBC provides a rate of .048 per $1,000 of Employer paid Life and AD&D coverage.
