Pete currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Eanes ISD. He has twenty-six years’ experience as the CFO in public school districts. He has experience at 2A, 3A, and 5A/6A districts as well as providing business support to schools as an ESC employee.
Pete is a graduate from Angelo State University with a BBA/MBA in accounting and is a CPA. He earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston Clear Lake in December 2024.
Pete and Christina Pape have been married for over 31 years and are proud parents of Cassadi (Pape) Cazares, Jaron Pape, and Cammi (Pape) Rodriguez. They are also enjoying being grandparents to Mia Grace Cazares. The Pape’s are active in their church and strive to live by its principles.
Mr. Pape was appointed by Governor Abbott to serve on the Texas Teacher Retirement (TRS) System Board in June 2026 and his term expires in 2030. He also served the Goose Creek CISD community in Baytown, TX as a school board member from 2015-2019.
Pete enjoys endurance sports and anything Coca Cola, gumball machines or vintage Volkswagen. He enjoys his 1963 VW Karmann Ghia and is currently restoring 4 VW buses, a VW Thing, and a Porsche 914. He has completed multiple Ironman and half-ironmen distance triathlons and many marathons. His new love is hiking through the Grand Canyon.
